"Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can."

- John Wesley
John Wesley's quote comes to mind when I think of many recent conversations I have had. So many new organizations are seeking EAGLE Accreditation (the means) to meet quality principles (all the ways) where their reach may be and some in as many as three different states (all the places).

These organizations are excited to find a state-approved accrediting body that aligns with the faith-based mission about which they are all so intentional. Through this process organizations improve existing systems; to ensure quality all the time so they can ultimately reach all the people they can.

Peer Reviewer News

Review Opportunities for 2020
Nine site visits are planned for 2020 and review teams are being assembled now. If you are interested in participating in a site visit as a reviewer or a reviewer alternate, please contact Jill Myers at jmyers@ouruma.org or at 301-556-1344 for more details. An alternate is a trained peer reviewer that participates with the peer reviewer team in the reviewing of the self-study, planning, initial scoring and is on-call to be available to join the team should the need for a replacement arise. This is a great opportunity for new peer reviewers to be exposed to the process.

Peer Reviewer Training at UMA Annual Meeting
Join us for peer reviewer training at the UMA Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 28, 9:00 AM to noon at Frasier. This half-day event is relevant to new peer reviewers or experienced reviewers seeking a refresher. Leaders, emerging leaders and professionals identified in your organization to monitor quality systems are encouraged to attend. Serving as a peer reviewer contributes to the quality of health and human services while also offering valuable professional development.
  • Join other peer reviewers in gaining a deeper understanding of the history and value of EAGLE, its processes and ten principles. Understand through dialogue, role playing and sample case studies key considerations for an EAGLE review.
  • Hear from experienced commissioners and peer reviewers "what to do" and "what not to do" when assessing an organization's self-study and during a site visit.
This training will be led by David Glenn, Vice President of Human Resources at United Methodist Communities and
Jill Myers, Director of EAGLE.

Peer reviewers must have a minimum of five years of experience in the field and commit to participate in one EAGLE review per year. The online modules must be completed prior to attending the live training session. See our website for full details.
